Dr. Omar further pursued her academic interests and research in Neurology, earning an MD(Res) from University College London (UCL) in 2012. She has also completed a Postgraduate Certificate (PGCert) in Otology and Audiology with Distinction from UCL in 2018.
Currently, Dr. Omar serves as a Consultant in Audiovestibular Medicine at University College London Hospital, where she runs specialised Neuro-Otology clinics. Her clinical expertise focuses on managing complex conditions such as acute and chronic dizziness, vertigo, imbalance, tinnitus, hyperacusis, hearing loss, and auditory processing difficulties. She has established herself as an educational leader within her specialty, holding roles as the local Postgraduate Medical Education Lead for Audiovestibular Medicine and serving as an educational supervisor for specialist trainees and MSc students.
Dr. Omar's research interests lie at the intersection of cognitive neuroscience and the impact of hearing loss on cognition in older adults. She has made significant contributions to her field, publishing extensively in high-impact peer-reviewed journals and contributing chapters to academic books.
