About Mr Richard Frame
Mr Richard Frame is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, also seeing private patients at Spire Elland Hospital. He completed his medical degree at the University of Newcastle upon Tyne in 2007, followed by his core surgical training in the North East of England. He moved to Yorkshire in 2012 where he undertook higher surgical training in General Surgery, specialising in Breast Surgery. He trained in York, Leeds and Hull breast units, alongside completing his Master's degree in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery. Mr Frame specialises solely in Breast Surgery, including surgery for benign breast conditions and breast cancer. Alongside his NHS work, he runs a one-stop clinic on Monday evenings at Spire Elland Hospital offering a rapid diagnostic service for patients with breast symptoms. He also has a keen interest in the management and investigation of patients with a family history of breast cancer, and at Spire Elland offers specialist appointments for discussion of breast cancer risk and private genetic testing for high-risk gene abnormalities (eg BRCA gene mutations). In his current clinical practice, he offers a range of breast treatments and procedures including the following: • Diagnosis of breast lumps or other breast symptoms • Breast cancer surgery - Wide local excision, mastectomy, therapeutic mammoplasty • Immediate breast reconstruction • Sentinel lymph node biopsy • Axillary node clearance • Symmetrising surgery following breast cancer treatment (reduction, mastopexy, lipofilling) • Benign breast lump removal • Genetic testing for BRCA1/2 abnormalities
