Dr. Rafik Abu Samra is a highly accomplished cardiac surgeon who has performed over 6,000 cardiac surgeries, including robotic CABG and aortic and mitral valve surgeries throughout his career. He spent four years as a Senior Consultant Cardiac Surgeon and Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery at Al Qassimi Hospital, MOH, in Sharjah, UAE, and has also worked in Bielsko, Poland.
Dr. Rafik was instrumental in establishing and introducing the first unit of Robotic-Assisted Cardiac Surgery using the Da Vinci system in the United Arab Emirates. He received extensive training in robotic surgery in collaboration with the Medical University in Leipzig, Germany, and has performed over 1,700 surgeries using the Da Vinci System, Aezop, and Zeus. His experience allows him to give his patients excellent outcomes, with a strong educational background and extensive clinical experience there are few others more qualified than Dr. Samra.
As an active member of the medical community, Dr. Rafik is affiliated with the Polish Society of Cardio-Thoracic Surgeons, the European Association for Cardiothoracic Surgery (EACTS), and the International Society for Minimally Invasive Cardiothoracic Surgery (ISMICS). His academic contributions include more than six scientific papers published in peer-reviewed journals, reflecting his commitment to advancing the field of cardiac surgery.
