Ms Rachel Kempsell

Rachel Kempsell is an experienced accredited counsellor with a decade of experience in the mental health field. She offers personalised therapy support to both individuals and couples, drawing on a range of therapeutic approaches. Rachel's work is particularly focused on enhancing relationships with oneself and others, as well as addressing impulsive coping strategies. She is particularly interested in tackling non-substance-related addictive behaviours—such as issues with spending, eating, or internet use—and exploring attachment relationships, which examine how early bonds influence behaviour and interactions. She also has a dedicated focus on couples and romantic relationships. Rachel joined Priory in 2023 as a sessional therapist. She is an accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Her training includes a Master of Science in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from Derby, and a Diploma in Couples Therapy from Nottingham. Rachel is qualified to work with individuals, couples, and other two-person groups such as siblings. She emphasises the importance of an initial assessment phase to ensure that she is the most suitable therapist for each client. If necessary, she may refer clients to colleagues for issues such as domestic violence or psychosexual concerns. In her practice, Rachel aims to help clients gain a deeper understanding of themselves, with the goal of improving their quality of life and making it more fulfilling.
