Since 1991, Professor Pierre-Marc Bouloux has been the director of the Center for Neuroendocrinology at the Royal Free Campus University College London (UCL). In addition to his work there, he is also based at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery and is the senior consultant in endocrinology for the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust.
He gained his medical degree in 1977 and has vast experience in both endocrinology and general medicine, having authored multiple books including "Diagnostic Tests in Endocrinology and Diabetes" as well as several textbooks used by undergraduate students of medicine. To date, he has published over 400 papers that have been peer-reviewed.
Prof. Bouloux is also involved in research, and his team have covered various aspects of andrology (the study of male reproductive organs), reproductive endocrinology, as well as areas within neuroendocrinology. He is currently investigating health and performance optimisation and longevity.
Professor Bouloux is married with three children and three grandchildren. When not working, he enjoys listening to music, travelling, and playing sports.
