Professor Andrew Wardley is an internationally respected consultant medical oncologist and clinical researcher with more than 25 years of experience at the forefront of breast cancer care. Renowned for combining scientific innovation with compassionate, patient-centred practice, his career has been defined by a commitment to improving outcomes and quality of life for people living with cancer.
Professor Wardley has played a pivotal role in reshaping breast cancer services in the UK. As a co-founder of both the Manchester Breast Centre and the Manchester Cancer Research Centre, he helped create fully integrated models of care that unite clinical treatment, research, and access to cutting-edge clinical trials. His work has ensured that advances in cancer science are translated rapidly and effectively into everyday patient care.
His clinical and research expertise spans breast cancer, cancer pain, and BRCA gene–related disease, and he has led internationally recognised research programmes that have driven major improvements in treatment strategies.
A graduate of the University of Manchester in 1989, Professor Wardley holds multiple postgraduate qualifications and fellowships, including earning Fellowship from the Royal College of Physicians in London in 2005.
