Dr Prayatna (Yana) Shetty is an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist with an interest in Maternal and Fetal Medicine. Maternal and Fetal medicine is a highly specialised field of obstetrics. This qualification requires a minimum of a further three years of specialised training in various aspects of medical and fetal conditions in pregnancy, as well as fetal ultrasound.
Dr Shetty believes in offering management according to the latest evidence-based medicine and is actively involved in research and training. Dr Shetty is also involved in obstetrics policy and guideline development.
Dr Shetty completed her MD (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) from the University of Kolkata in India where she received the highest academic medal. She then moved to the UK and worked at Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton. She then moved to Australia and obtained her Fellowship with the Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.
Dr Shetty believes that her job is to guide her patients to make an informed decision about the optimum care in their pregnancy. Over the years, she has helped many women achieve their desired goals through mutual discussion and decision-making.
