Dr. Pran Lal is an experienced General Practitioner with a comprehensive background in various aspects of general medicine. He earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) from Punjabi University in India in 1979 and began his medical career with initial training in Fiji. In 1987, he relocated to New Zealand, where he worked at several prominent hospitals, including Starship Children’s Hospital, Auckland Hospital, North Shore Hospital, and Middlemore Hospital. During his time in New Zealand, Dr. Lal served as a Paediatric Registrar for six years and completed his Diploma in Obstetrics at National Women’s Hospital, Auckland.
Dr. Lal further honed his expertise by completing a General Practitioner with Special Interest in Ear, Nose, and Throat certificate course from Middlemore Hospital. He worked in both rural hospitals and community general practice in New Zealand before moving to Australia’s Gold Coast in 2006.
Since arriving in Australia, Dr. Lal has primarily practised in the Coomera area and was awarded his Fellowship from the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (RACGP) in 2006. He also served as a Clinical Examiner for the RACGP until 2019.
Dr. Lal’s clinical interests are broad, including general medicine, paediatrics, obstetrics, emergency medicine (sports and workplace injuries, minor fractures, and wounds), skin checks and skin cancer management, ear, nose, and throat care (including ear suction), iron infusions, antenatal and postnatal care, women’s health, and chronic disease management, with a focus on diabetes.
