About Dr Panagiotis Koliou
Dr Panagiotis Koliou is a highly experienced Consultant Medical Oncologist with over 17 years of clinical practice, specialising in the management of early and advanced breast cancer. He is recognised for delivering personalised, evidence-based care, combining the latest advances in oncology with a compassionate, patient-centred approach. His expertise spans the full range of systemic anticancer treatments, including endocrine therapy, chemotherapy, antibody–drug conjugates, targeted therapies and immunotherapy. Dr Koliou treats patients across both standard care pathways and cutting-edge clinical trials, ensuring access to the most innovative therapies available. Dr Koliou graduated in Medicine from the University of Ioannina and holds an honours degree in Biochemistry from Benedictine University, USA. He completed a Master’s degree in Clinical Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Surrey and was awarded a PhD in Medical Oncology with First Class honours from University of Ioannina, Greece. He undertook specialist training in Medical Oncology at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and at University College London Hospital. He has a strong interest in precision oncology, using advanced molecular and genomic profiling to tailor treatments to each individual patient. His work incorporates the use of circulating tumour DNA and other liquid biopsy technologies to guide treatment decisions and monitor disease in real time. Dr Koliou has extensive experience in managing complex metastatic breast cancer, with particular expertise in sequencing therapies and optimising outcomes across multiple lines of treatment. He is also an active contributor to research and innovation, having served as Principal Investigator in multiple Phase III clinical trials in breast cancer and melanoma at Royal Surrey, helping to bring forward new standards of care. Known for his clarity, attention to detail and commitment to excellence, Dr Koliou works closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure each patient receives the highest standard of care throughout their treatment journey.
