About Mr Panagiotis Drymousis

Mr. Panagiotis Drymousis is a highly accomplished Consultant General and Upper Gastrointestinal (GI) Surgeon, specialising in surgical care at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust in North West London. Following this, Mr. Drymousis secured a prestigious Marie Curie European Scholarship for advanced training and research in HPB and Neuroendocrine Surgery. His surgical practice covers a wide range of specialties, including the diagnosis and treatment of dyspepsia symptoms, gallstone disease, biliary pathology, and various forms of hernia surgery, both open and laparoscopic. Mr. Drymousis plays a pivotal role in leading the rapid access clinic at the Whittington Hospital, an ambulatory care pathway designed to streamline diagnosis and treatment, minimise hospital stays, and enhance the overall patient experience. Committed to the training of junior doctors and surgeons, Mr. Drymousis actively participates as a faculty member in training days and hands-on courses organised by the Royal College of Surgeons and other surgical and academic societies. He also serves as a faculty member for the Royal College of Surgeons Intermediate Laparoscopic Skills Course and the Basic Surgical Skills Course. In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Drymousis remains active in research, frequently presenting his research findings at national and international meetings and delivering lectures at prominent scientific gatherings. His clinical interests span a wide range of surgical areas, including gallstones and biliary pathology, complex abdominal hernias, abdominal wall reconstruction, pancreatitis (diagnosis, acute management, and definitive treatment), pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours (diagnosis, management, and follow-up), and ambulatory and day-case surgery, with a focus on enhancing acute surgical pathways, surgical ambulation, and implementing enhanced recovery protocols for day-case surgery.

"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
