Throughout her career, Nikolina has been actively involved in various eye health organisations, including the European Society of Cornea & Ocular Surface Disease Specialists (EuCornea), Irish College of Ophthalmologists, Croatian Ophthalmological Society, and the European Society of Cataract & Refractive Surgeons (ESCRS). She has also developed a highly successful intense pulsed light service at IOES, utilising top-tier systems.
Passionate about education and awareness, Nikolina extends her expertise beyond the clinic by making appearances on Irish television and radio to share insights about Ocular Surface Disease. She also actively participates in medical conferences worldwide.
Nikolina graduated from the School of Medicine, University of Zagreb, and later earned a master's in health management. She has held various roles in ophthalmology, including serving as an investigator at a screening database for diabetic retinopathy (DriDB) and as a medical associate at the Glaucoma Reference Center, Croatian Ministry of Health. Before joining IOES, she worked as a lead consultant at a Health Centre in Zagreb and later as a consultant in private practice in Bray, Co. Wicklow, Ireland.
Nikolina is a proud member of the Tear Film & Ocular Surface Society (TFOS), EuCornea, Irish College of Ophthalmologists, Croatian Ophthalmological Society, and ESCRS, reflecting her dedication to advancing eye health and patient care.
