About Dr Nicola Kumar
Dr Nicky Kumar is a leadingLondon consultant nephrologist with special interests in dialysis,chronic kidney disease, hypertension, renovascular disease and early detection and management of kidney disease (nephropathy).She is currently a consultant nephrologist at Guy's and St Thomas' Hospital and the Spire Hospital in Tunbridge Wells. She has extensive experience in treating kidney patients with over 10 years at consultant level. Her consultation style aims to address the individual needs of her patients and to provide advice on patient specific investigations and treatment. After graduating from Aberdeen University, Dr Kumar completed her training in some of London's top teaching hospitals. She was awarded a diploma in medical education from University College London and went on to hold the role of training programme director for core medical training at Guys' and St Thomas' Hospital between 2015 and 2018, and is still very involved in training junior doctors. She has a research MD from the University of London and has published in a range of peer-reviewed journals. Her current interest in clinical research relates to dialysis treatment and managing advanced kidney disease.
