About Dr Nathan Wong
Dr. Nathan Wong is an Ophthalmologist offering both medical and surgical ophthalmology care to patients for a wide range of eye and vision-related issues. Dr. Wong has a sub-specialty interest in corneal and external eye diseases. Dr. Wong performs cataract surgery using advanced-technology IOLs in addition to corneal and refractive surgery, including laser vision correction. Dr. Wong received specialist training through the Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital (RVEEH). Dr. Wong was appointed as the hospital's chief registrar in 2017. Dr. Wong then worked overseas for NHS England at the Bristol Eye Hospital, as a clinical subspecialty fellow in their corneal department. Upon return to Melbourne, Dr. Wong completed their final fellowship through the RVEEH corneal department. Dr. Wong also holds a certificate for laser and refractive surgery through the Royal College of Ophthalmologists, UK. Dr. Wong provides public hospital care to RVEEH emergency patients, Royal Melbourne Hospital patients, and the Indigenous community locally at the Victorian Aboriginal Health Service (VAHS). Dr. Wong is passionate about providing individualised care to patients, communicating in a clear and respectful manner to foster a healthy therapeutic relationship, and improving the quality of vision for patients to maximise their quality of life.
