Mr Zahir Soonawalla is a highly experienced Consultant Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgeon. They are the Clinical Lead for the gallstone service at a National Health Service (NHS) Trust and have organised the provision of NHS services for patients with gallstone disease. They founded The Oxford Gallstone Clinic, which delivers high-quality and personalised care for the management of gallstones and related complications.
Mr Soonawalla has a special interest in complications of gall bladder surgery, their causes and management, and has published papers in this field. They also chair the Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Cancer Services at an NHS Trust and lead their Neuroendocrine Centre of Excellence.
In addition to their clinical work, Mr Soonawalla is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at a University and takes part in research and teaching.
