About Mr Thomas Pearson
Mr. Thomas Pearson is a highly skilled and experienced General and Colorectal Surgeon with extensive training and expertise in various aspects of surgical care. Graduating from the Royal Free Hospital in 1992, Mr. Pearson has undergone training in General and Colorectal Surgery across several prestigious institutions in London, Northamptonshire, Surrey, Sussex, and Australia. Throughout his career, Mr. Pearson has made significant contributions to the field of surgery, including lecturing in General Surgery at University College London and conducting research on the natural history, genetics, and inheritance of colorectal cancer. He has a particular interest and expertise in minimally invasive surgery, having trained in keyhole surgery at Frimley Park and The Royal Surrey County Hospital. Mr. Pearson is recognised as an accomplished Robotic Surgeon, having performed over 100 rectal resections robotically. He is also a JAG accredited lower GI endoscopist, having completed training and evaluation at St George's Hospital endoscopy training unit. As a Consultant Surgeon at Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford since 2007, Mr. Pearson is dedicated to providing high-quality care to his patients. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and holds memberships with prestigious professional associations such as the Association of Laparoscopic Surgeons, Association of Coloproctologists of Great Britain and Ireland, and the British Association of Hernia Surgeons. Mr. Pearson's clinical interests span a wide range of conditions, including hernias, pilonidal disease, gallstones, haemorrhoids, fissures, fistulas, colorectal cancer, inflammatory bowel disease, diverticular disease, and hereditary colorectal cancer. He is proficient in various surgical techniques, including laparoscopic surgery, robotic surgery, and the treatment of early rectal cancer using techniques such as Transanal Minimally Invasive Surgery (TAMIS) and Rafaelo.
