About

Mr Steven Thrush has served as a Consultant Breast Surgeon at Worcester since 2004, specialising in the diagnosis and comprehensive management of breast cancer and benign conditions. His expertise extends to breast reconstruction and enhancing outcomes following various types of breast surgery, emphasising a holistic approach to patient care. He currently sees private patients at Spire South Bank Hospital and The Droitwich Spa Hospital.

Mr Thrush is a highly recognised specialist oncoplastic breast surgeon, pioneering reconstructive breast surgery and introducing the concept of Oncoplastic Breast surgery in Worcestershire. His dedication to balancing optimal oncological surgery with excellent cosmetic results has garnered national recognition, including being listed among the top reconstruction surgeons by the Daily Mail and achieving finalist status in the Best Doctor competition on BBC One Show.

Mr Thrush has received a Mentor Award for Teaching from the University of Worcester. He serves as a director for the Association of Breast Surgeons Oncoplastic Surgery Training and acts as module lead for the Masters in Oncoplastic Surgery at the University of East Anglia.

In 2009, he initiated a successful campaign to establish a dedicated breast unit for Worcestershire, raising over £1.5 million for its construction. Since its opening in 2016, the unit continues to thrive with ongoing fundraising efforts to support individuals affected by breast cancer.

Additionally, Mr Thrush has been invited to work in London, specialising in cosmetic breast surgery. He maintains a stellar reputation for achieving outstanding surgical outcomes while prioritising compassionate and thorough patient care.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
