About

Mr Rish Parmar is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in Shoulder & Elbow Surgery. He is based in Liverpool and currently sees private patients at Renacres Hospital and Liverpool Spire Hospital. He has specialist expertise in trauma surgery, joint replacement, sports injuries of the upper limb and arthroscopic (minimally invasive) surgery.

He completed his medical degree at the University of Manchester in 2000, subsequently completing his training in Manchester and Stoke-on-Trent before moving to Sydney, Australia to work. He later completed his specialist orthopaedic training in the North West of England and became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2010 and joined the Specialist Register in 2014.

He was awarded fellowships at three world-renowned units, Wrightington Hospital, Liverpool Upper Limb Unit and the Royal Liverpool Hospital in trauma. During these fellowships he developed his expertise in complex upper limb conditions and surgical procedures, including both open and arthroscopic procedures. Since then, he has visited and trained in centres across Europe and North America including the Mayo Clinic.

Using his extensive expertise, Mr Parmar strives to deliver excellent patient-centred care in treating a broad range of upper limb conditions.

In addition to his clinical expertise and work, Mr Parmar also undertakes teaching and mentorship for trainees in his specialty. He has taught on both international and national courses and has been involved in organising courses and conferences for the British Elbow and Shoulder Society.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
