He qualified in 1991 from the University of Nottingham Medical School and completed his Higher Surgical Training in the Oxford Deanery. He obtained a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from Hull University Teaching Hospital for his research in Colorectal Cancer Immunology, which was awarded the Piedmont Prize by the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgeons.
As an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Buckingham Medical School and an examiner for the MRCS and FRCS for the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, Mr. O'Hara plays a significant role in surgical education.
In his 20+ years as a Consultant Surgeon, Mr. O'Hara has held leadership roles such as Clinical Director, Colorectal Cancer Lead, and Cancer Lead for Milton Keynes University Hospital. His clinical expertise spans benign colorectal conditions like haemorrhoids, anal fissures, and fistulae, alongside colorectal cancer. He sees both self-funding and insured patients at The Saxon Clinic.
