About
Mr Ray moved to England in 1994 and has since had extensive training in centres of excellence in Leicester, London and Sheffield. During this time, he has been awarded a MCh (Orth) degree in 1998 from the University of Liverpool, FRCS in 2002 and Fellowship of the Intercollegiate board for Trauma and Orthopaedics (FRCS (Orth)) in 2003.
In 2004, Mr Ray joined the Barnet and Chase Farm NHS Trust ( Royal Free NHS Trust) as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon. He strives to provide a state of the art foot and ankle service in both the NHS and private sector. His expertise includes foot and ankle surgery, sports injuries of the knee, leg, ankle and foot, and the management of ankle arthritis. Mr Ray is one of the few surgeons in North London offering ankle or toe joint replacement for arthritic pain.
He is affiliated to a number of societies and is invited around the world as faculty promoting ankle replacement and arthritis surgery for foot and ankle conditions. He is a keen teacher and is involved in education. He is the surgical tutor for Barnet hospital and has been the Post graduate lead and the Consultant lead of Orthopaedics for his hospital in the past.
Mr Ray is a very enthusiastic cook and sportsman, with particular interest in cricket, football and golf. He plays his golf in the Hadley Wood Golf club. His two boys have finished University studying Physics and Biology respectively. They are now working. His wife is an Orthopaedic upper limb consultant. He prides himself as an amateur chef and few of his dishes can be viewed on his Instagram page Ortho_chef.
