I am a Consultant General Surgeon with a specialist surgical practice in weight loss, gallbladder and hernia surgery. I was the lead General Surgeon for Trauma at St George's Hospital (one of the leading trauma units in London) and have performed over 1,500 keyhole procedures with excellent clinical and patient satisfaction outcomes.
I have a particular interest in patient safety and am on a national patient safety committee as well as the UK Bariatric Surgery Registry Committee - the body responsible for publishing and monitoring outcomes in weight loss surgery in the UK. I also act as an independent medicolegal witness, providing expert medical opinions to a number of bodies including the GMC and solicitors.
I also have an academic practice and am a Honorary Senior Lecturer at St George's Medical School and a senior examiner for medical undergraduates. I have published over 160 articles on all aspects of surgery and my research has been featured in national and international press.
