General Surgery
About
With extensive experience in general surgery, Mr. Sarfraz provides a specialised resectional oncoplastic breast surgery service, which includes image-guided surgery, sentinel lymph node biopsies for breast cancer staging, and primary breast reconstruction and symmetrisation surgeries. He also performs thyroid and parathyroid surgery.
Mr. Sarfraz trained as a general surgeon, focusing on breast, endocrine, gallbladder, and open hernia surgery, and achieved consultant status in his home country. He relocated to the UK in 2000 for further training, spending seven years in the Mersey region, where he gained proficiency in general, breast, and endocrine surgery, as well as laparoscopic cholecystectomies, with an impressive elective conversion to open rate of just 1% (national average is 5%).
A passionate educator, Mr. Sarfraz is a faculty member on major surgical courses for both the Royal College of Surgeons of England and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He continues to contribute to the training and development of the next generation of surgeons.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
