Mr Mendoza qualified in Medicine in 1983 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degrees at University of London. He undertook specialist surgical training in Neurosurgery and gained a Fellowship in Surgical Neurology by the Intercollegiate Speciality Assessment Board on behalf of the Royal Colleges of Surgeons in 1994. He has 11 years' experience as an NHS Consultant Neurosurgeon working at the West London Neurosciences Unit at Charing Cross Hospital and he was also Chief of Service for the 5 years.
In addition, Mr Mendoza is interested in research regarding Pituitary tumour and Trigeminal Neuralgia. His personal interests include Rugby, Skiing and Music.
