Mr
Mr Nigel Gummerson
Orthopaedic Surgery
About
He studied medicine at Trinity College Oxford and later joined the Leeds surgical rotation. His practice includes Adult and Paediatric Spinal Surgery.
The majority of his NHS time is split between the complex spinal deformity and treatment of (thoracic and lumbar) degenerative conditions (eg sciatica, spinal stenosis and coccygeal pain).
He treats trauma, tumour and infection (cervical, thoracic, lumbar and sacral) as part of his emergency spinal work.
Mr Gummerson also has a particular interest in spinal trauma. He has authored a number of journal articles on spinal trauma and he lectures locally and nationally on this topic.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
— Mr Nigel Gummerson
