About Mr Michael Savvas
Mr Michael Savvas is an experienced Consultant Gynaecologist with an interest in infertility. He is the clinical lead for the assisted conception unit at King's College Hospital, which specialises in investigating infertility, and providing Intrauterine insemination, IVF and ICSI.
Mr Savvas manages the symptoms of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, menopause and HRT, and has been involved in multiple research projects in this field. He also has clinical interest in the use of different forms of HRT in the prevention of postmenopausal osteoporosis and the effects of HRT on skin thickness and collagen content.
Mr Savvas completed undergraduate training in gynaecology at The London Hospital, before developing a special interest in Reproductive Endocrinology when he was Research Fellow to Professor John Studd at King's College Hospital. Mr Savvas also has many years experience in colposcopy and is a BSCCP accredited colposcopist.
Mr Savvas has held past posts as President of the Obstetrics and Gynaecology section of the Royal Society of Medicine and as the Clinical Director for Obstetrics and Gynaecology at King's. He is a Member of the British Menopause Society (BMS) and its Medical Advisory Committee. He has also co-authored the BMS guidelines on Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT).
