About Mr Johan Witt
Johan Witt is a specialist in disorders of the hip. He trained in London, with fellowships in Boston, Sydney and Bern. He looks after both young and older patients where the spectrum of hip conditions tend to differ. He has built up a specialist unit at University College London Hospitals looking after young adults with hip conditions with the focus on hip preservation surgery. Examples include hip arthroscopy for femoroacetabular impingement and management of labral tears and Periacetabular osteotomy surgery for hip dysplasia. He has developed a minimally invasive approach for this type of surgery allowing more rapid recovery. He has extensive experience in Hip Replacement Surgery including in very young patients and is an adopter of the Direct Anterior Approach for hip replacement which is a minimally invasive approach which facilitates an easier and quicker recovery. Main research interests include outcomes of hip preservation procedures, CT analysis of hip deformities, Ceramic on ceramic hip replacement and minimally invasive approaches for hip surgery Diseases, Medical Tests and Treatments
