About Mr James Webb
Mr James Webb is a Consultant Orthopaedic who specialises in hip and knee replacement, and performs the most (approx 850) hip and knee replacements in the north of england, and some of the highest numbers in the uk. He now exclusivly specialises in elective hip and knee surgery, providing tailored personalised care to his patients at Tees Valley Hospital and Circle Woodlands Hospital. Mr Webb graduated in 1999 from Newcastle upon Tyne and undertook his training in North East England and Western Australia and was appointed at James Cook University in 2010. He has worked exclusivly in the independant sector since 2019 in order to provide tailored, bespoke care to all of his patients His interests include mako robot assisted surgery, complex hip and knee replacement, knee pain, knee giving way, knee locking, knee arthroscopy, cartilage tear (meniscus). As well as also offering complex knee and hip replacement, he is also amongst the first to offer robotic-assisted Hip and Knee replacement surgery in the Northern region of England. He know is part of the teaching faculty training surgeons in the UK and Europe using his experience of robot assisted surgery. he has personally completed over 1000 mako procedures, seeing the benfits such as a quicker recovery, less post operative pain and reduced comlicaion rates. He aims to offer personalaised advice to allow each and every patient to acheive their full potential, and enjoys the challange of using new technolgies in hip and knee replacement such as computer navigation, patient specific technologies and lately robot assisted hip and knee replacements. Mr Webb uses enhanced recovery techniques to help patient recover quickly and comfortably from their surgery, with only a short post operative stay in hospital. As well as his qualifications he has completed additional training, this involved completing a fellowship in Reconstructive Hip Surgery in Western Australia in 2011. Mr Webb is also apart of several organisations including the British Medical Association, the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the British hip society and the British Orthopaedic Association.
