Mr James Berstock
About
James is a Mako robotic certified specialist arthroplasty surgeon performing the full range of hip treatments including hip replacement, hip arthroscopy, robotic assisted hip surgery, as well as knee replacement and robotic assisted knee replacement. He is also the Editor in Chief of the scientific Journal Hip International, which keeps him at the forefront of advances in the field.
After completing surgical training James embarked on three years of advanced specialist training, completing the prestigious Vancouver arthroplasty fellowship among others, and bringing these advanced skills back to help patients in and around Bath, UK. He also completed the Bristol Hip surgery fellowship and a fellowship in complex adult lower limb trauma.
He has been presented with a number of awards and accolades during his career, including the Current Concepts in Joint Replacement Scholarship in 2018, which he received for exceptional and career-long achievements in hip and knee joint replacement.
In addition to his extensive and high achieving clinical work, he has also undertaken work as a research fellow in Bristol and he has completed a NIHR funded Clinical Lectureship and the University of Bristol. He continues to maintain an interest in research, always aiming to provide the best outcomes for his patients.
