Mr. Brendan Smith is a highly experienced Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon. He qualified in 1991 from Charing Cross and Westminster medical School. Following completion of a junior surgical training rotation through Charing Cross Hospital and completing my college fellowship exams (FRCS Eng 1996) he achieved a research fellowship studying the ‘detection of micrometastases in breast cancer' devising a new semi quantitative method of detecting microscopic collections of cancer cells in blood and bone marrow, gaining a higher Masters of Surgery degree (MS University of London) in 2004. During senior surgical training in 2003 he succeeded in gaining Oncoplastic fellowship at the Christie and South Manchester University Hospitals; a prestigious fellowship to be awarded. Following completion of my fellowship Mr. Smith was appointed as the first Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in 2004.
