Mr Andrew Richards, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, currently works at Guy's and St Thomas's Hospital in London. Mr Richards began his medical education at St Mary's Hospital, graduating in 1996 with his undergraduate medical degree. He was also a double honour student, achieving an additional honours degree in Physiology. He then progressed on to his specialist training in orthopaedics on the South West Thames rotation, where he developed a keen interest in surgery of the shoulder, elbow, and complex trauma. Following this, he undertook a one-year fellowship abroad researching tears of the rotator cuff at John Hopkins Hospital in the USA, he was later awarded a Master of Surgery degree for his work. He further developed his skills in complex trauma and reconstructive surgery at the Rowley Bristow unit in Surrey and arthroscopic techniques in the shoulder and elbow at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospital. Following his training, he was given his current consultant role at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals in 2009.

Mr Richards endeavours to use the latest techniques available and strives to provide the best care, he works multidisciplinary with many highly qualified medical professionals including physiotherapists which assists his patients to have excellent outcomes.
