Mr Andrew Cobb is an Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Surrey, UK. He currently practices exclusively at the Ashtead Hospital in Ashtead. He was inducted into both the Edinburgh and England Royal College of Surgeons as a Fellow in 1982, a very prestigious honour. He also served as Clinical Fellow in joint replacement surgery at Harvard University Medical School in Boston, USA in 1987, and as American-British-Canadian Travelling Fellow in 1992.
Mr Cobb was one of the leading consultants at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital in Stanmore, and as Senior Lecturer in Orthopaedics in the Institute of Orthopaedics at University College in London from 1988-1994. He believes deeply in training the next generation of orthopaedists, and has served as Education Secretary and a member of the Council of the British Orthopaedic Association, an Intercollegiate FRCS Orthopaedics Examiner from 1999-2004, and Director of Professional Affairs for the South East Coast region Royal College of Surgeons of England and Deputy Medical Director of Epsom and St. Helier NHS Trust.
He is also the author of a number of papers on hip and knee surgery and is an international lecturer on the topic of hip resurfacing. Mr Cobb currently also enjoys the honour of being a reviewer for the Journal of Arthroplasty, the Knee, and the Journal of Engineering in Medicine. He is also active in a number of professional societies, including the British Hip Society, British Association of Surgeons of the Knee, American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, British Orthopaedic Association, Royal College of Surgeons, Girdlestone Orthopaedic Association, Percivall Pott Club, Seddon Society, and the 1964 Club.
