Dr Elgafy completed his primary medical qualification at Ain Shams University, Egypt in 1998. He later completed his Master's degree in Anaesthesia at Ain Shams University, Egypt in 2002, followed by his specialty training (MD) in Anaesthesia in 2007 at the same university.
Alongside his clinical practice, Dr Elgafy also holds professional memberships with the Egyptian Society of Anaesthetists, the Egyptian Medical Council, the Saudi Heart Association and the Emirates Society of Anaesthesia. He has also been a Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) instructor since 2006.
