Miss Hillaby qualified as a doctor in 1998 from the Royal Free Hospital with a Distinction in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. She competed further training in and around London and this included an additional two years in research at King's College Hospital, which resulted in an MD thesis from the University of London on the use of non-invasive techniques to differentiate between cancerous and non-cancerous ovarian cysts. She also undertook a fellowship to be a women's cancer specialist in one of the biggest UK women's cancer centres in Birmingham.
Miss Hillaby treats women with gynaecological cancer - womb, ovary, vulva and cervix - as well as general gynaecological issues, including period probems. She is accredited in colposcopy (the management of smear test abnormalities) and gynaecological ultrasound. She is also trained in the use of laparoscopic surgery, including keyhole hysterectomy.
