Miss Kamilia El-Farra is a Consultant Gynaecologist based in Harlow and Sawbridgeworth, near the ourskirts of London. She initially graduated from Alexandria University Medical School in 1982, and was then awarded the membership of The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, London, in 1992. She became a Fellow of The RCOG in 2003. She also completed a Master's Degree in Medical Law and Ethics from Glasgow University in 2005. In addition to decades of clinical experience, Miss El-Farra is a keen contributor to international research in her field. She was a Research Fellow during the 4 years she worked at Guy's Hospital, and then moved to The Royal London Hospital where she held positions including Registrar, Senior Registrar, and Research Fellow.
Her main areas of research interest involved pregnancy screeing, contraceptive implants, hormone replacement,ectopic pregnancy and fertility issues. Now working as a Consultant Gynaecologist at The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, she also managed to devote time to the non-clinical management of the NHS through her roles as lead clinician, clinical director, deputy medical director, the Medical Director for Elective Pathways and Guardian of Safe working.
In her spare time Miss El-Farra enjoys playing squash, running, and reading politics.
