Nach seinem Medizinstudium an der Albert-Ludwigs-Universität Freiburg im Breisgau absolvierte er seine fachärztliche Ausbildung an universitären HNO-Kliniken in Essen und Münster. Im Jahr 1994 erlangte er die Anerkennung als Facharzt für Hals-Nasen-Ohrenheilkunde, 2001 folgte die Zusatzbezeichnung „Plastische Operationen“.
Über viele Jahre war Dr. Prinz zu Schwarzburg Partner in Gemeinschafts- und überörtlichen Gemeinschaftspraxen in Münster und Greven und als Belegarzt an der Raphaelsklinik Münster tätig. Darüber hinaus arbeitet er als HNO-Konsiliararzt sowie als Honorararzt mit Schwerpunkt Rhinoplastik. Seit 2025 ist er Teil des Teams der Praxis Sentruper Höhe in Münster unter der Leitung von Dr. med. Philipp Behrendt.
