Dr Matt Milner MBBS, FRCEM, founder of Vitruvian Health Uk, initially created his health optimisation clinic back in 2017, at a time when a more wholistic approach to healthcare was in it's infancy.
Dr Milner's philosophy has always been in maximising long term health, vitality and functionality, that ‘prevention’ is always better than ‘cure’, compared to the culture of relying on 'band-aid' western medicine that has unfortunately crept into modern day practice.
Dr Milner graduated from St George's medical school in 2000, he went on to become a Specialist Registrar in Emergency Medicine, training at London teaching hospitals such as St Thomas's and Kings College, also gaining a more broad experience, working at Royal North Shore Hospital, Sydney, Australia.
On gaining his fellowship in emergency medicine, he has been working as an ED Consultant at Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust (MTW) since 2011. Management roles at MTW have included being Director of Major Trauma and Guardian of Safe Working.
Outside of the NHS sector since 2017, he has been Medical Director for MedEvent Medical Services, providing pre-hospital large event medical cover. This included a pre-hospital project for over 3yrs with the Home Office.
Evidenced by the 1000s of patients Dr Milner has treated in the emergency department, the pre-hospital environment and in his private practice, these opportunities have given him a unique insight into how lifestyle choices cause acute/long term detriment to individuals everyday health and wellbeing and this has allowed him the privilege of making a real difference to countless clients quality of life and performance.
Over the years of his clinical practice, he has had a wide array of clients including WSM competitors, Hollywood actors, World Cup winning rugby players, Olympia bodybuilders, to 'stay at home' dads, all receiving unique care tailored to their specific needs.
Outside of the medical domain, Dr Milner enjoys daily countryside dog walks, classical music, resistance training, cooking family meals from scratch, taxiing his daughters to evening training sessions and studying ancient history.
At Vitruvian Health UK, he provides health MOTs, health optimisation assessments, bespoke blood testing, ECG screening, private prescribing and onward recommended specialist referrals, if indicated.
