About Mr Mark Forster

I have been a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon for the Cardiff and Vale University Health Board since 2007 and was the Lead Knee Clinician for the Health Board from 2012 to 2020. I am a specialist knee surgeon and have particular expertise in knee replacement including revision, ligament reconstruction, patellofemoral disorders and knee problems in children and adolescents. I treat the whole spectrum of knee disorders and perform over 300 knee operations per year. I am also Honorary clinical teacher at Cardiff University. I am heavily involved in research, with over 40 papers in peer reviewed journals and over 50 national and international presentations. I am also a reviewer for The Knee. I enjoy travelling to unusual places off the beaten track and have been fortunate to travel to many amazing places around the world. I love the great outdoors and spending time walking up hills or along the beach. I enjoy good food and good company. I am a keen football fan. I am married with one son.

"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
