This experience allowed him to refine his skills in assessing and treating a broad spectrum of retinal conditions, including age-related macular degeneration, retinal vein occlusions, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, and macular holes. After completing his fellowship, Mr. Cahill worked as a consultant eye surgeon at Duke University Eye Center before returning to Ireland in 2004.
