Dr Manish Kalla is a Consultant Cardiologist and Electrophysiologist based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital and The Priory Hospital, specialising in the management of heart rhythm disorders. Dr Kalla graduated with distinction from Guy’s, King’s and St Thomas’ School of Medicine in 2003. He completed his general medical training in London, followed by cardiology training in Cardiff, where he developed a particular interest in cardiac electrophysiology. In 2011, he was awarded a British Heart Foundation Research Fellowship at the University of Oxford, completing a Doctorate (DPhil) in 2016 on the mechanisms underlying life-threatening heart rhythms. His research has been widely published in leading journals, and he received the British Heart Rhythm Society Young Investigator Prize in 2014.
Dr Kalla undertook advanced subspecialty training in Electrophysiology and Device Therapy in Oxford and further refined his expertise in complex catheter ablation at the world-renowned Royal Melbourne Hospital under Professor Jon Kalman.
Appointed as a Consultant in 2018, Dr Kalla provides specialist care in catheter ablation of atrial and ventricular arrhythmias, device implantation, and management of inherited cardiac conditions. His research continues to focus on atrial fibrillation mechanisms, atrial imaging, and ventricular tachycardia treatment.
