Dr Cunningham then trained as a dermatologist at various renowned London teaching Hospitals including the St Barts NHS Trust. She then gained membership with the Royal College of Physicians and later completed her Certification in Dermatology in 2018.

Dr Cunningham has received over 10 national and international awards, scholarships and prizes from the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, the British Skin Foundation and the Royal Society of medicine amongst others for her clinical practice and academic research.

She has also been made Honorary Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary University, where she tutors General Practitioners and future medical professionals training to be Dermatologists.

She is a member of the British Association of Dermatologists and the Royal Society of Medicine. She lives with her husband and daughter in Sussex.
