Dr Maliha Shaikh
About
With her keen interest in chronic musculoskeletal pain and fibromyalgia, Dr Shaikh collaborates with pain specialists, clinical psychology, and physiotherapy to run a multidisciplinary fibromyalgia clinic. She strongly believes in patient involvement and considers it integral to their management. Throughout her training, she has actively worked with charities such as the National Spondyloarthritis Society (NASS) and the National Rheumatoid Arthritis Society to ensure patient engagement.
Dr Shaikh is also passionate about medical education and serves as the educational lead for the undergraduate musculoskeletal program at Whipps Cross University Hospital. She acts as an educational supervisor to junior doctors and mentors and supervises allied health colleagues, including nurses and physiotherapists, in completing higher professional studies. With her involvement in treating chronic conditions, she advocates for both mental and physical well-being. Dr Shaikh takes a holistic approach to patient care, tailoring treatments to meet the unique needs of each individual.
Dr Maliha Shaikh's expertise encompass a wide range of rheumatological conditions, including early inflammatory arthritis, back pain, fibromyalgia, joint and soft tissue injections, connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, polymyalgia rheumatica, giant cell arteritis, osteoarthritis, gout, osteoporosis, and soft tissue conditions.
