About Dr Mac Nixon
Dr Mac Nixon, an esteemed orthopaedic surgeon based in the Hunter region, specialises in treating disorders of the hip and knee, alongside performing general orthopaedic surgeries. After completing his Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at James Cook University (JCU), Queensland, Dr Nixon pursued advanced training through the Australian Orthopaedic Association (AOA) in Newcastle. He further honed his skills with two subspecialty fellowships: the St John of God Lower Limb Arthroplasty and Reconstruction Fellowship in Perth, Western Australia, and the Orthopaedic Research Institute of Queensland Lower Limb Arthroplasty and Reconstruction Fellowship in Townsville. Driven by a passion to restore patients' quality of life, he uses comprehensive assessments, advanced surgical techniques, and personalised rehabilitation plans.
