Dr. med. Lutz Hänsel studierte und promovierte in München, an der Technischen Universität und an der Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität. Im Jahr 2003 absolvierte er die Qualifizierung zum Facharzt für Chirurgie und drei Jahre später die Qualifizierung zum Facharzt für Orthopädie und Unfallchirurgie. Nach zahlreichen Weiterbildungen und Tätigkeiten als Facharzt gründete Dr. Hänsel 2008 eine Praxisgemeinschaft im Müller-Wohlfahrt Zentrum für Orthopädie und Sportmedizin in München.Seit 2020 ist er Gründungspartner der Gemeinschaftspraxis für Orthopädie und Sportmedizin Hänsel/Ueblacker/Hahne in München. Bei seinen Behandlungen versucht Dr. med. Hänsel auf Schmerzmittel und Kortison zu verzichten und legt seinen Fokus stattdessen auf rein biologisch oder homöopathische Mittel um möglichst nebenwirkungsfrei zu arbeiten. Im Zuge dessen behandelt er akute und degenerative Wirbelsäulenerkrankungen, Gelenksbeschwerden und Sportverletzungen. Des Weiteren betreut Dr. Lutz Hänsel diverse Sportmannschaften und Profisportler, unter anderem die Mannschaft des FC Bayern München.
