Über uns
Liz Halliday is an experienced midwife, tongue tie practitioner, and perinatal trauma therapist at The Resolution Clinic, where she brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to supporting families throughout their maternity journeys.
After beginning her career in midwifery in 2006 as a mature student at Trinity College Dublin, Liz spent several years working within the Irish maternity services before discovering her passion for community-based care. Overthe last 11 years she has provided antenatal and postnatal care, supported home births, and assisted families in both hospital and home settings across Ireland's east coast and midlands.
Liz has supported hundreds of families, particularly those navigating previous maternity trauma, breastfeeding challenges, or difficulties accessing infant care. Her commitment to providing compassionate, informed care has led her to pursue additional qualifications in key areas, enabling her to offer a broad range of services tailored to the unique needs of each family.
As a trained tongue tie practitioner, Liz offers assessment, diagnosis, and release of tongue tie in infants up to one year of age. Her extensive training included a practical placement at The Fitzwilliam Clinic in Bray and a student clinic in Norfolk, England.
Driven by her desire to support families recovering from traumatic birth experiences, Liz trained in Birth Trauma Resolution therapy under psychotherapist Jenny Mullans in 2021. She now provides short, solution-focused courses to help clients resolve the emotional impact of perinatal trauma and reclaim their well-being.
In 2022, Liz further expanded her clinical skills by completing the Newborn and Infant Physical Examination (NIPE) practitioner programme at Teesside University. She offers this vital screening for babies up to four weeks of age, ensuring access to thorough postnatal care in a calm and comfortable environment.
Liz is also the first Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) in Ireland, having completed her training at the University of Chester in 2018. She provides confidential, supportive consultations for fellow midwives, including during reflective practice or following incidents and investigations.
Recognising the importance of addressing clinician well-being, Liz is additionally trained in Vicarious Trauma Therapy within a maternity setting. She works to support not only midwives but also other maternity professionals affected by secondary trauma, helping to improve both staff experiences and outcomes for families.
Liz continues to learn and grow, both personally and professionally, while maintaining a philosophy of invidualised, evidence based, and compassionate care.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
