She is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and a full member of both the British Oculoplastic Surgery Society and the Scottish Oculoplastic Group.
In addition to her clinical practice, Dr. Hughes has served as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the University of Edinburgh and has represented Ophthalmology Training for the Royal College of Surgeons.
