About Dr Ksenia Alex
Dr Ksenia Alex MBBS, PhD Consultant Gynaecologist & Reproductive Medicine Specialist Expert in: Adenomyosis • Endometriosis • Heavy & Painful Periods • Fertility Strategy • Advanced Ultrasound • Reproductive Endocrinology About Dr Ksenia Alex Dr Ksenia Alex is a Consultant Gynaecologist and Reproductive Medicine Specialist with a focused clinical interest in adenomyosis, endometriosis, heavy menstrual bleeding, and fertility decision-making. She works with women who have: • persistent symptoms despite normal or inconclusive tests • unclear diagnosis • ongoing pain or heavy periods • uncertainty about surgery, hormones, or fertility timing Her approach combines advanced gynaecological ultrasound, reproductive endocrinology, and structured clinical assessment to identify the primary driver of symptoms and define the most appropriate management pathway. Clinical Approach Consultations are designed to provide clarity, structure, and a defined clinical plan. Dr Alex uses a structured clinical decision framework (STRATA), developed in her practice, to guide diagnosis and treatment planning. This approach integrates: • structural assessment (adenomyosis, endometriosis, fibroids) • hormonal and metabolic evaluation • reproductive goals and timing • disease activity and progression The aim is to move away from repeated symptom management towards clear, prioritised clinical decisions. Areas of Expertise • Adenomyosis (diagnosis, staging, fertility impact) • Endometriosis (including complex and fertility-related cases) • Heavy and painful periods • Pelvic pain • Fertility strategy and optimisation • Reproductive endocrinology • Advanced transvaginal ultrasound assessment Background & Training Dr Alex completed her medical degree at St Petersburg Paediatric Medical Academy and postgraduate training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the UK, where she also obtained a PhD in Reproductive Pharmacology. She has subspecialist experience in reproductive medicine, is IVF-trained in the UK, and holds European certification in laparoscopic surgery. She has extensive experience in advanced gynaecological ultrasound and has held a Clinical Fertility Lead role within the NHS. Additional Approach Dr Alex integrates hormonal, inflammatory, and metabolic factors into clinical decision-making, particularly in complex cases where standard pathways have not provided clear answers.
