About Dr King Man Wan
Dr King Man Wan is the Director of Gynaecological Oncology at the Royal Hospital for Women, where he specialises in the management of gynaecological cancers, pre-invasive disease and complex benign gynaecological conditions, including endometriosis and complex ovarian masses. He performs a high volume of both open and minimally invasive procedures and is a certified Da Vinci robotic surgeon, with expertise in advanced pelvic surgery. Dr Wan grew up in Sydney and graduated with honours from Monash University. He returned to New South Wales to complete his internship and residency on the Central Coast before undertaking specialist training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. During this time, he developed a strong interest in caring for women with gynaecological cancers. He went on to complete further training in Gynaecological Oncology at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, followed by three years of formal subspecialty training across leading centres including Chris O’Brien Lifehouse in New South Wales, the Royal Adelaide Hospital in South Australia, and King Edward Memorial Hospital in Western Australia. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Wan holds a Master of Public Health and is a Conjoint Lecturer at the University of New South Wales. He teaches on a Master’s course in women’s cancer and plays an active role in training gynaecological oncology fellows, obstetrics and gynaecology trainees, and medical students. His practice encompasses gynaecological oncology, advanced pelvic surgery, endometriosis, fibroids, and robotic and laparoscopic surgery, with a focus on delivering high-quality, evidence-based and compassionate care.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
