Mr Kaushik Chakrabarty
Plastic Surgery
About
One of his key areas of interest is the treatment of facial palsy, where even minor adjustments can significantly enhance a patient's quality of life. His approach to facial palsy involves a detailed assessment of facial anatomy and customised reconstruction, considering the patient's age and combining static, dynamic procedures, and volume augmentation.
Mr. Chakrabarty is also passionate about medical education. He has been instrumental in mentoring and preparing senior trainees for their FRCS(Plast) examinations through lectures, hands-on teaching, and practical demonstrations.
Since June 2013, Mr. Chakrabarty has served as a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Wythenshawe Hospital. Before this, he spent a year as a locum consultant at the same hospital and five years as a locum consultant at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London before returning to Manchester. Additionally, he maintains a peripheral attachment at Macclesfield District General Hospital, where he dedicates time each Tuesday to outpatient clinics and surgical sessions in the operating theatre.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
