A/Prof Katrina Reardon
About
A/Prof Reardon has worked at St Vincent's Hospital for more than 20 years and has been a valuable part of neuromuscular clinics, nerve conduction/EMG clinics, and the needle muscle biopsy service. She has also been part of Calvary Healthcare for ten years managing the care of patients with chronic neuromuscular conditions. In 2002, A/Prof Reardon initiated a laboratory diagnostic service for muscular dystrophies which involves the genetic analysis of the condition.
A/Prof Reardon achieved her medical degree from the University of Tasmania in 1991 where she was awarded 6 prizes for different aspects of her work. She then went on to complete her specialist neurology training at Monash Medical Centre and neuromuscular disorder training at St Vincent's Hospital in Melbourne. In 2001, she won the Dora Lush Scholarship and gained her PhD from the University of Melbourne.
