About Dr Katherine Irving
Dr Katherine Irving is a Consultant Rheumatologist with extensive experience in the diagnosis and management of a wide range of rheumatological and musculoskeletal conditions. She graduated in medicine in 1996 and completed specialist training in both General (Internal) Medicine and Rheumatology in London. She has been practising as a Consultant Rheumatologist since 2008. Dr Irving works at King’s College Hospital, London, and also sees patients privately at Nuffield Health Highgate Hospital and at The Guthrie Clinic, King's College Hospital. Her clinical expertise spans the full spectrum of general rheumatology, including inflammatory arthritis, connective tissue diseases, and acute rheumatological presentations. She has a particular interest in early inflammatory arthritis, where prompt diagnosis and treatment can make a significant difference to long-term outcomes. She also has a specialist interest in fibromyalgia, complexity, and the psychological aspects of living with long-term rheumatological and pain conditions. Dr Irving was a lead consultant in the award-winning Guy’s multidisciplinary fibromyalgia service and continues to work closely within multidisciplinary teams to deliver highly individualised, patient-centred care for people with complex pain and rheumatological disorders.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
