About Mr Kalyana Javangula
Mr. Kalyana Javangula is an accomplished consultant cardiac surgeon with extensive experience in heart valve surgery and off-pump coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG). He began his career in India, where he gained significant expertise before moving to the UK. Over the years, he has worked at prestigious institutions, including John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Blackpool Teaching Hospital, and currently at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. In addition to his clinical work, Mr. Javangula serves as an honorary lecturer at Leeds School of Medicine, where he is actively involved in mentoring trainees and medical students. Mr. Javangula has a special interest in total arterial revascularisation for CABG, minimally invasive valve surgery, and aortic aneurysm surgery. His surgical expertise also extends to valve repair and replacement for mitral, tricuspid, and aortic valves, as well as cardiac tumour resections and pericardiectomy surgery. With an outstanding track record, Mr. Javangula has successfully performed over 2,200 major cardiac procedures, including emergency operations. Notably, Mr. Javangula was the first consultant in the country to achieve a 0% complication rate within his first 100 surgeries, a milestone acknowledged by the World Society of Cardiac Surgeons (WSCTS).
